About This workshop
This hands-on workshop dives into the exciting world of Agri-tech, specifically focusing on DIY Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for agricultural applications. Participants will be guided through assembling Raspberry Pi microcontrollers with various environmental sensors, including moisture, temperature, and pH probes. We'll cover Python programming fundamentals to collect, process, and transmit data, enabling real-time monitoring of soil conditions. By the end of the day, attendees will have built their own functional smart soil sensor system, understanding how to apply these innovative technologies to improve crop yield, conserve water, and make data-driven decisions for more sustainable farming practices in Arkansas and beyond. Ideal for tech enthusiasts, farmers, and educators looking to integrate modern tech into agriculture.
