About This hackathon
The Coastal Resilience Hack invites developers, scientists, designers, and environmentalists to collaborate on innovative tech solutions addressing the pressing challenges of climate change impacting South Carolina's coastlines. Participants will leverage open data, satellite imagery, and IoT sensor information to build applications, predictive models, and decision-support tools focused on sea-level rise, storm surge mitigation, and sustainable resource management. This intensive weekend event offers mentorship from leading experts in climatology and software development, fostering a unique environment for problem-solving and impactful innovation. Teams will present their prototypes to a panel of judges, competing for prizes and the chance to see their ideas further developed for real-world application in our vulnerable coastal communities.
