About This workshop
This immersive workshop provides a unique opportunity to apply cutting-edge artificial intelligence to critical environmental challenges facing Florida's precious coral reefs. Participants will gain practical experience in building and deploying deep learning models capable of analyzing underwater imagery to detect coral diseases, identify species, and assess overall reef vitality. You'll learn about data acquisition techniques specific to marine environments, annotation strategies for creating robust datasets, and the deployment of lightweight AI models on edge devices suitable for underwater drones or fixed camera systems.
