About This workshop
This intensive workshop offers participants a unique opportunity to build and program miniature autonomous rovers from the ground up, simulating real-world desert exploration challenges. You will learn fundamental robotics concepts, integrate various sensors (Lidar, cameras, IMUs), and implement edge artificial intelligence algorithms using Python for navigation, obstacle avoidance, and target identification directly on embedded devices. The curriculum covers hardware assembly, software development with ROS 2 basics, and practical deployment, culminating in a competitive rover challenge on a custom-built desert-themed obstacle course. Attendees will gain invaluable practical skills in robotics, AI, and embedded systems development, preparing them for advanced projects in autonomous technologies.
