About This workshop
This hands-on workshop dives into the practical implementation of Edge AI for ecological monitoring, tailored for New Hampshire's unique environment. Participants will learn to configure and program microcontrollers and single-board computers, like Raspberry Pi or ESP32, with AI models capable of classifying wildlife sounds, detecting specific tree species, or monitoring water quality at the device level. We'll cover sensor integration, data acquisition, and deployment strategies for remote, low-power scenarios, culminating in building a prototype monitoring unit. Ideal for conservationists, hobbyists, and developers interested in applying AI to environmental challenges, this session provides the skills to contribute to local preservation efforts.
