About This workshop
This intensive one-day workshop empowers participants to leverage artificial intelligence for critical environmental challenges specific to the American West, focusing on Utah's diverse landscapes. Attendees will gain practical experience in applying Python libraries like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Pandas to real-world datasets encompassing weather patterns, hydrological data, and geospatial imagery. The curriculum covers data preprocessing, feature engineering, training various machine learning models (e.g., time series forecasting, classification for anomaly detection), and interpreting results to inform conservation efforts and disaster preparedness. By the end of the day, participants will have built and deployed a functional predictive model, ready to contribute to more sustainable environmental management strategies across the region.
