About This workshop

This hands-on workshop empowers participants to assemble, program, and pilot a custom quadcopter drone designed for environmental data collection. Attendees will learn the fundamentals of drone mechanics, integrate various sensors (pH, temperature, turbidity) to monitor water quality parameters, and program autonomous flight paths using Python. The focus will be on open-source hardware and software platforms, providing a practical understanding of how robotics can be applied to critical ecological challenges facing the Chesapeake Bay.
