About This workshop
This intensive intermediate-level workshop empowers participants to develop and implement AI-driven solutions for sustainable marine aquaculture and reef restoration. Attendees will gain practical experience in setting up micro-AI models on Raspberry Pi or similar edge computing devices, focusing on image recognition for identifying coral species, detecting disease, and monitoring environmental parameters critical to aquatic health. The curriculum covers data collection techniques, model training using transfer learning, and deploying these intelligent systems in simulated reef environments. By the end of the day, participants will have built a working prototype capable of providing actionable insights for protecting Florida's precious marine ecosystems, bridging the gap between cutting-edge AI and critical environmental conservation efforts.
