About This workshop
This intensive, hands-on workshop equips participants with the knowledge and tools to secure Internet of Things (IoT) devices in challenging, often isolated, rural settings like those found across Wyoming. Attendees will delve into practical scenarios, identifying common vulnerabilities in smart home devices, agricultural sensors, and remote monitoring systems. We will cover secure coding practices, network segmentation techniques, and the deployment of strong authentication and encryption methods using open-source tools. Participants will gain experience with vulnerability assessment tools and learn how to proactively defend against cyberattacks, ensuring the integrity and privacy of their IoT deployments amidst the unique challenges of the high plains.
