About This workshop
This intensive, hands-on workshop empowers Vermont's small farmers and tech enthusiasts to integrate cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) solutions into their agricultural practices. Participants will delve into the fundamentals of embedded systems, learning to assemble and program ESP32-based microcontrollers with various environmental sensors for applications like soil moisture and temperature tracking. We will cover data logging, basic cloud integration for real-time visualization, and power optimization for remote deployments. By the end of this session, attendees will have built a functional, deployable IoT sensor node and gained practical skills to foster data-driven decision-making for more efficient and sustainable farming unique to Vermont's climate.
